TRAMWAY’S SNOW GUESSING CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED
PALM SPRINGS, CA (January 9, 2018) The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway’s Annual Snow Guessing Contest officially ended on Tuesday, January 9 with one inch of measurable snow at the Tramway’s Mountain Station as of 6:35 a.m.
The first ten contestants who submitted the correct date are:
- B.K. Palmer of Palm Desert
- Brenda Siddon of Desert Hot Springs
- Mr. & Mrs. A. Shutak of Palm Springs
- Harold Clumeck of Palm Springs
- M.L. Bratton of Indio
- Jeff Givo of Irvine
- Linda Dinko of Cathedral City
- Vanessa Ng of Irvine
- Diane Lakata of Palm Desert
- Tim McQuaide of Culver City
The winners will receive four Tramway admissions plus a Tramway snow globe. The contest began October 1 and 845 entries were received.
SPECIAL TRAM HOURS FOR MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. HOLIDAY
PALM SPRINGS, CA (January 5, 2018) The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will observe holiday hours during the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend January 13-15 with the first Tram up each day at 8:00 a.m., the last Tram up at 8:00 p.m. and the last Tram down at 9:45 p.m. Tram cars depart at least every 30 minutes.
At the Mountain Station, visitors may enjoy viewpoints, a gift shop, a natural history museum, over 50 miles of hiking trails and two documentary-style movies about the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and the Mount San Jacinto State Park.
Dining options include:
- Peaks Restaurant offers a waiter-service dining experience. Reservations are recommended by calling 760-325-4537 or by booking via Open Table on the Tram’s website.
- Pines Café offers a more casual, cafeteria-style dining alternative.
- Lookout Lounge offers a variety of alcoholic beverages and appetizers.
Tram admission is $25.95 for adults and $16.95 for children ages 3-10 years.
Special discounts and packages are available after 4:00 p.m. Twilight Tickets are $22.95 for adults and seniors, and $13.95 for children ages 3-10. Ride ‘n’ Dine tickets are $36 for adults and seniors, and $23.50 for children ages 3-10. This combination ticket includes Tram admission and dinner at Pines Café.
SANTA ARRIVES DECEMBER 16 AT PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAMWAY
Special Tram Hours and Dining Throughout Holiday Season
PALM SPRINGS, CA (December 5, 2017) Santa visits the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway on Saturday, December 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Free candy canes and photo opportunities for the kids bring another dose of Yuletide merriment to all who visit the Tramway’s Mountain Station.
The Tramway operates a special schedule from December 18, 2017 through January 1, 2018. The first tram up each day is at 8:00 a.m., the last tram up is at 8:00 p.m. and the last tram down is at 9:45 p.m.
On December 25, 2017 and January 1, 2018, Ride ’n’ Dine tickets—which include Tram admission and dinner at Pines Café (a cafeteria-style restaurant)—is available for purchase beginning at 8:00 a.m. (rather than the usual 4:00 p.m.) Dinner service begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. Combination tickets are $36 for adults and seniors, and $23.50 for children (ages 3-10).
Peaks Restaurant serves their regular lunch and dinner menus along with a special prix fixe holiday menu beginning at 11:00 a.m. on December 25, 2017 and January 1, 2018. Reservations are recommended and may be made by either calling 760-325-4537 or via Open Table on the Tram’s website (www.pstramway.com/dining).
Finally, the remaining performances of the Tram’s “Sounds of the Holidays” musical series are as follows:
- Friday, December 8 – Desert Ridge Academy Concert Choir
- Saturday, December 9 – Martin Luther King High School Chamber Singers & Show Choir

- Friday, December 15 – The Lions’ Pride Chamber Singers (Cathedral City H.S.)
Choirs perform on the Pines Café Stage at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
