Celebrate Easter Sunday at 8,516 Feet

PALM SPRINGS, CA (March 14, 2023) On Sunday, April 9, celebrate Easter Sunrise Service with songs of faith, hope, and joy by the Perkins Brothers, and an inspirational message by Pastor Robert Sneed. The service will begin at 5:30 a.m., with the first tram car up at 4:45 a.m.  

Tickets will be available for purchase starting at 4:15 a.m. with reduced tram fares until 7:30 a.m. Tickets are $19.95 for adults and seniors, and $12.95 for children ages 3-10.  

Beginning at 6:30 a.m., breakfast will be served in Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant, until 10:00 a.m. Ride ‘N’ Breakfast combination tickets, which include tram fare and breakfast, will be available for purchase from 4:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. for $29.95 for adults and seniors, and $17.95 for children ages 3-10. The breakfast menu is also available separately until 10:00 a.m. for $18.95. 

Normal tram fares will be in effect after 7:30 a.m. Regular Tram admission is $29.95 for adults, $27.95 for seniors 65+, and $17.95 for children ages 3-10. (Note: These prices do not include breakfast, only tram fare.) 

Easter dinner will be available from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Pines Café. Cost for the Easter Ride ‘N’ Dine combination is $38.00 for adults and seniors, and $24.50 for children ages 3-10. Reservations are not taken, and tickets go on sale at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

PALM SPRINGS, CA (February 24, 2023) – The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will be closed on Saturday, February 25 due to extreme weather forecasts.

According to General Manager Nancy Nichols, “Out of an abundance of caution, we have made the advance decision to close on Saturday when the worst of the storm is expected to hit. We regret this closure, but safety is always our primary concern.”

PALM SPRINGS, CA (February 7, 2023) Brian E. Conley, retired educator and public servant, has been elected 2023 Chairperson of the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority, governing body of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Conley was appointed to the Authority by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. in 2018.  

Conley has spent most of his life in public service, beginning as a college administrator/professor at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California for nearly four decades. Throughout his life, Conley has served on the California Student Aid Commission, on the Board of Governors of California Community Colleges and as an aide to a U.S. congressman. He is also the retired 24-year Board President of Rancho Santiago Community College District in Orange County, California. Additionally, Conley is a member of the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges and a lifetime member of the Association of Community College Trustees, after previously serving as California State Chair for three years. Conley earned a Master of Arts degree in fine arts and education, as well as furthering his education with advanced studies at UCLA and Pepperdine University. He now resides in Big Bear Lake, California.

During his many years of service and dedication to education, Conley has been recognized for his achievements by the California State Assembly, the California State Senate and the United States Congress. He now brings his expertise in public policy and years of institutional management to the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority as chairperson.

“I am honored to be named the 2023 Chair of the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority,” says Conley. “I look forward to using my knowledge in public policy and sharing in the planning of the Tramway’s 60^th anniversary celebration this year.”

Also elected for 2023 offices are Vice Chair Jeff Ohlfs, Secretary Sandra Magana-Cuellar, and Treasurer Nancy Stuart.

The current Authority members are Jerry Ogburn and Nancy Stuart appointed by the Palm Springs City Council; Bary Freet and Brian Nestande appointed by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors; and Sandra Magana-Cuellar and Jeff Ohlfs appointed by the Governor.

PALM SPRINGS, CA (February 6, 2023) The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will observe special holiday hours during Presidents’ Day Weekend February 18-20, 2023, with the first tram car up each day at 8:00 a.m., the last tram car up at 8:00 p.m. and the last tram car down at 9:30 p.m. Tram cars depart at least every 30 minutes.

Enjoy a day or evening above the desert floor exploring the 14,000-acre Mt. San Jacinto State Park & Wilderness and be awed by spectacular Coachella Valley vistas from the Mountain Station. Be sure to wear appropriate hiking attire and extra layering to keep warm.

Tram admission is $29.95 for adults and $17.95 for children ages 3-10. After 4:00 p.m., Twilight Tickets are $26.95 for adults and seniors, and $14.95 for children ages 3-10.

PALM SPRINGS, CA (January 18, 2023) – The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will reopen today, January 18, with regular hours of operation. The first tram car up will be at 10:00 a.m., the last tram car up will be at 8:00 p.m. and the last tram car down will be at 9:30 p.m.

According to Vice President of Maintenance Joe Rose, “Our electrical control board began having issues on Sunday. We believe the issues were caused by power surges from the storm. We have since remedied the issue and have run multiple tests to make sure everything is operating as usual.”

Tramway Delayed Opening Due to Technical Issues

Extended Tramway Hours 

PALM SPRINGS, CA (January 2, 2023) The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will observe special holiday hours during the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend January 14-16, 2023. The first tram up will depart the Valley Station each day at 8:00 a.m., the last tram up will depart at 8:00 p.m., and the last tram down the mountain will depart at 9:30 p.m. Tram cars depart at least every 30 minutes.  

At the Mountain Station, visitors may enjoy views extending from the Mexico border to the Little San Bernardino Mountains. There is also a natural history museum and two documentary theatres showing films about the Tramway construction and the Mount San Jacinto State Park. In addition, guests can explore over 50 miles of hiking trails for all skill levels in the State Park.
