EXTENDED HOURS FOR FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Celebrate the Fourth of July with a Tram Ride to Cooler Temperatures

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will operate with extended hours July 4 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. On Friday, July 4, the first tramcar up will be at 8:00 a.m., the last tramcar up will be at 9:00 p.m. and the last tramcar down will be at 10:30 p.m.

Join the Mount San Jacinto State Park rangers on a guided nature walk along the 1½-mile Desert View Trail on Sunday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m. or the ¾-mile Long Valley Nature Trail loop at 1:30 p.m. Those interested should meet at the bottom of the cement walkway located just outside the Mountain Station after riding the Tram to the top. Guided Nature Walks are free to attend with general Tram admission.

“MILITARY DAYS” AT THE PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAMWAY

During the entire month of July, all U.S. military personnel with valid military identification—active, former, and retiredreceive free admission to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, along with a special gift for “Military Days.” Spouses of deployed military members, as well as military widows and widowers, also qualify for the promotion. Military personnel are encouraged to bring friends and family and receive 25% off regular Tram admission for up to four guests.

While visiting the Tramway, guests can enjoy:

  • Over 50 miles of hiking trails in the Mount San Jacinto State Park.
  • Guided Nature Walks every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. through Labor Day Weekend.
  • Mount San Jacinto State Park and the Natural History Association Summer Programs.
  • A unique fine dining experience along the skyline at Peaks Restaurant.
  • Cafeteria-style dining convenient for the whole family at Pines Café.
  • Learning about the plants and animals in the State Park at the Natural History Museum located on the lower level of the Mountain Station.

Enjoy Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway May 30-June 8. Peaks Restaurant is offering a special dinner menu while guests enjoy spectacular views and a ride on the world’s largest rotating tramcar.
The three-course $59 prix fixe menu (exclusive of tax, gratuity, and tram fare) includes:
  • Starter Options—Spinach Salad, Corn Chowder, Charred Shrimp, or Spinach Artichoke Dip with pita and vegetables
  • Entrée Options—Wild Mushroom Ravioli, Mango Salmon, Filet of Beef, Smoked Gouda Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese, or Half Roasted Duck
  • Dessert Options—Tiramisu, Flourless Caramel Chocolate Crunch Cake, or Salted Caramel Cheesecake
Reduced Restaurant Week tram fares are available after 4:00 p.m. and are $20 for adults and seniors, and $12 for children (ages 3-10) with confirmed Peaks Restaurant reservations.
Starting May 23, the last tram car up Sunday through Thursday is 8:00 p.m. and the last tram car down is 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, the last tram car up is 9:00 p.m. and the last tram car down is 10:30 p.m.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND KICKS OFF THE SUMMER SEASON

Summer Hours, Guided Nature Walks, and Summer Programs

Memorial Day Weekend marks the beginning of the summer season at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and Mount San Jacinto State Park (MSJSP). Visitors can look forward to extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays, Guided Nature Walks every Sunday, and the return of the Mount San Jacinto State Park and the Natural History Association summer programs.

Memorial Day Weekend holiday hours will be observed on Sunday, May 25, with the last tram up at 9:00 p.m. and the last tram down at 10:30 p.m. On Monday, May 26, the first tram up is at 8:00 a.m., the last tram up at 8:00 p.m., and the last tram down at 9:30 p.m.

Summer Hours begin May 23 and run through September 1, 2025. Every Friday and Saturday, the last tram up is at 9:00 p.m. and the last tram down is at 10:30 p.m. In addition, Peaks Restaurant will extend the last seating to 8:30 p.m. and Pines Café will remain open until 9:30 p.m.

Guided Nature Walks by State Park volunteers resume May 25 and continue Sundays through September 1. These walks feature a choice of two easy trails–the Desert View Trail, a 1½-mile walk beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the Long Valley Nature Trail, a ¾-mile loop beginning at 1:30

p.m. No advance registration is required and there is no charge except for regular Tramway admission.

The Mount San Jacinto State Park summer programs run through August 30. Visitors can discover the wonders of the State Park and learn how to enjoy its resources responsibly. For more information on MSJSP programs, please visit https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=636 .

PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAMWAY SUMMER PASS BEGINS MAY 1

Escape the Heat with Unlimited Tram Rides May 1 through August 31

Beginning May 1, guests may purchase the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Summer Pass to escape the hot summer heat and enjoy cooler temperatures at Mount San Jacinto. Summer Passes are valid May 1 through August 31, 2025.

Temperatures at the top of the Tramway are typically 30-40 degrees cooler than on the valley floor. Passholders can enjoy over 50 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas and campgrounds in the 14,000-acre pristine wilderness of the Mount San Jacinto State Park.

The Summer Pass includes unlimited Tram admissions for the passholder, a 10% discount on additional Tram admissions (limit 4), a 10% discount at Peaks Restaurant and Pines Café, and free parking. Summer Passes are $85 for adults and seniors, and $45 for children ages 3–10. Beginning May 1, guests may purchase their Summer Pass online at https://pstramway.com/tickets/ or in-person at the Tramway’s Valley Station.

The Tramway Mountain Station offers spectacular views stretching from the Salton Sea to the San Gorgonio Pass. Visit Peaks Restaurant for a romantic fine dining experience along the skyline; or dine in Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant that is perfect for the whole family to enjoy. Cocktails are available in the Lookout Lounge. Visitors can also explore the gift shop, natural history museum, and two documentary-style films about the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and the Mount San Jacinto State Park.

EXPERIENCE SUNRISE SERVICE AT THE PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAMWAY

Celebrate Easter Sunday at 8,516 Feet

On Sunday, April 20, celebrate Easter Sunrise Service with songs of faith, hope, and joy by the Perkins Brothers, and an inspirational message by Pastor Robert Sneed. The service will begin at 5:00 a.m., with the first tram car up at 4:15 a.m.

Beginning April 1, 2025, tickets to the Sunrise Service and Ride ‘n’ Breakfast are available for advance purchase by visiting the Tramway’s Valley Station during normal business hours. Tickets may also be purchased on Easter morning upon arrival at the Valley Station from 4:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Tickets for the Sunrise Service are $22.95 for adults and seniors, and $13.95 for children ages 3-10. Ride ‘N’ Breakfast combination tickets, which include tram fare and breakfast are $32.95 for adults and seniors, and $21.95 for children ages 3-10. Breakfast will be served from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant. (Note: These purchase options are only available for tickets redeemed 4:00-7:30 a.m. on April 20, 2025.).

Normal tram fares will be in effect after 7:30 a.m. Regular Tram admission is $32.95 for adults, $29.95 for seniors 65+, and $18.95 for children ages 3-10. (Note: These prices do not include breakfast, only tram fare.)

Pines Café will also serve an all-day Easter Ride ‘N’ Dine from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Ride ‘N’ Dine combination tickets are $41.00 for adults and seniors, and $27.50 for children ages 3-10. Tickets for the Easter Ride ‘N’ Dine can be purchased as a walk-in on April 20, 2025, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Peaks Restaurant will serve regular lunch and dinner menus during normal operating hours.

DISCOVER THE HISTORY OF THE PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAMWAY

Presentation and Book Signing by Author Steve Lech

Join us on Saturday, March 15 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. for an informative presentation and book signing by author and historian Steve Lech. Lech will be discussing his book, Crocker’s Folly, which details the long and difficult journey by the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway founders in building this now iconic attraction.

Steve Lech, a native of Riverside County, has been researching the area for more than 40 years. He has written or co-written more than a dozen books and over 300 articles on various aspects of Riverside County’s history. In addition to writing and researching articles and books, he serves as co-editor of the Riverside County Chronicles (the Riverside County Heritage Association’s journal of local history), he is on the editorial board of the Journal of the Riverside Historical Society, and he serves as president of both the Riverside Historical Society and the Riverside County Heritage Association.

The presentation and book signing event will be held in the Francis Crocker Room at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Mountain Station. Crocker’s Folly is available for purchase in the Mountain Gift Shop. This event is free with general Tramway admission. General admission is $32.95 for adults, $29.95 for seniors 65 and older, and $18.95 for children ages 3-10. Tram cars depart at least every 30 minutes.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will observe extended holiday hours on February 17 in celebration of Presidents’ Day. The first tram car up is at 8:00 a.m., the last tram car up is at 8:00 p.m. and the last tram car down is at 9:30 p.m. Tram cars depart at least every 30 minutes.
